Seven days built around Bhutan's grandest masked dance festival at Tashichho Dzong in the capital, then on to Punakha and Tiger's Nest.
The Thimphu Tshechu is held each September in the courtyard of Tashichho Dzong — three days of sacred Cham dances, monks in brocade costumes, and the unfurling of a vast silk thangka. This seven-day itinerary centres on the festival then continues to Punakha Dzong and the Tiger's Nest hike in Paro.
